first 25 shots of Iwai Shunji's Picnic

the film starts out with a long shot of a dark street. Someone is laying roses out on the street while the intro credits are shown, and then a car appears from one side of the street and runs over the roses.(all this during the forst shot) The length of this shot is very significant and it sets the mood of the film right away.

The next six shots show who is in the car. A couple is at the back seat in formal clothes (mid shot), and a young girl in black clothes is in the front seat(close up). This is the first shot of the main character, Chara.

Shots 7 to 18 move are edited between close ups of Coco's face as she is dragged out from the car and into the hospital, mid shots/close ups of the nurses seen from Coco's perspective as they drag her away, long shots of the nurses and Coco seen from another perspective (from the side or from behind), and Coco's parents who just stand and watch after handing over their daughter.

following this is a long shot of the front of the hospital while other patients watch Coco being dragged inside, reactions from other patients (4 close ups), 2 close ups of Coco screaming and trying to break away, and finally another long shot of the other patients watching, as Coco and the nurses go through the front doors and close them.

Great! Well done Joe! I want to suggest you think about watching "Strangers on a Train" rather than "Notorious". I'm sure there are those that would disagree, but I think its a better film. You could watch both if you prefer! ;)

Good start, Eugene! I'd like you to be sure to include The Game in your final project- its my favorite of his films, and I think you'll enjoy it as well.
