I like the idea of the mirrors- as long as you're thinking of a new way of using them. Not sure that tomato juice will actually look good- and as you said earlier, not showing something is scarier than showing something. Maybe Jason has some good ...

Sound is an extremely important part of this film in creating mood and showing the setting. For example, the different background music has a clear cut of the mood it wants to set for. When creepy music is played, it is supposed to make you scared...

Mis-En-Scene - To Live - Analysis

Theme: A person should be grateful for their life/ No matter much difficulties you meet in life, you need to move on

In this scene, Chunsheng goes to Fugui's house. The lighting is interesting in this scene. First Chunsheng knocks on his door, so the light in the house is on. The lighting in the inside is now different from the outside. The lighting on the inside has more of a red tone; the light on the outside has more of a blue tone. This shows that those two people are in their own separate… Continue

Script: Chen Kaige

A:
Picture slide show of him
Hi, I am here to talk about Chen Kaige, a Chinese director.
Chen Kaige was born in 1953 in Beijing. He entered Beijing Film Academy in 1978 and graduated in 1982.

Picture slide show of him
He, along with Zhang Yimou, another well know Chinese director, was known as the leaders of China’s 5th generation of directors. Chen’s first film, Yellow Earth, was released in 1984, which was listed as one of the 100 Best Chinese Motion Pictures. His most ce… Continue

Mirrior Mask- Film Analysis

Theme: The “imaginary life” is just as real as the “real life”, be content for the life you have now or you will regret it.

Lighting-
During the circus show, the lighting was yellowish, and made everyone’s faces look pale and tired, especially Helena’s. It shows that Helena was tired of the world she lives in, even though many other children will dream to live in her "unreal world".

Heavy Make up-A lot of the character in the circus wore heavy and white make up, as if the… Continue

Full Metal Jacket - Film Analysis

1. The Timing- one of the first scenes:
In the beginning, the scene where Sergeant Hartman yells at everyone when they enter the training on Parris Island, took an extraordinarily long time. The director here is trying to emphasize how Hartman will be hard on the recruits. The director set up individual characters differently. However, he sets up Pyle quite differently. The director made sure that Pyle is taller than Hartman, but Hartman is in charge of everyone

Film Analysis- Shanghai Triad

1. The choice of the title of the movie
The title of this film is Shanghai Triad, however The original title of this movie in Chinese is called 摇啊摇, 摇到外婆桥, which is the name of song that Xiao Jingbao and the little girl, Ah Jiao, sang. I think that song that both of girls sang is a crucial scene in the movie that contributed the theme of the film. Even though the title Shanghai Triad is related to this film, the movie loses a lot of meaning and purpose when the translators for the f… Continue

Good! Way to be convincing about the color argument. Since its actually part of the plot of this film, it ties the theme together nicely. Good examination of the shot sequence with the gopher. nanananananana. 10/10

As i have found, Alfred Hitchcock does not seem to have a particular style—cinematography wise. This is most likely because his films are made to look so natural that we do not notice it. Also, his way of presenting the actions and events has been...
