I agree with what you said about the theme. Basically, the resolution of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" defines the theme of the story. Greedy men won't be allowed to possess anything worth of real value (which in this movie, is the "Ark"). The Ark is ju…

Mis-en-scene: Bruce Almighty

In the movie, Bruce Almighty, Bruce Nolan (played by Jim Carrey) is down on his luck. He doesn't get the anchor job he so desires and he ruins his close relationship with his girlfriend (Jennifer Aniston). Bruce blames God and constantly 'disses' the Alpha and Omega,

Twenty minutes into the film, there is a scene where Bruce enters a broken-down, stale building. The lighting, though, in the building was bright and the room was white all-around. God himself, who was busy fixing a certain light i… Continue

Steven Spielberg - SCRIPT

[Picture of director]
Steven Spielberg is an American motion-picture director, producer, and executive, who achieved great success and is among the most popular filmmakers.

Spielberg's short film 'Amblin', which he directed in 1969 came to the attention of Universa… Continue

Film Analysis - No Country For Old Men

Expert sound work and great camera shots made "No Country for Old Men" a total visual and aural pleasure.

The camera shows us the gorgeous views of West Texas. With the opening scene set on the scenic views, the movie immediately takes on a Western feel.

This movie is glorious. Early in the film, while Moss is out hunting, he spots a hobbling dog. The scene then cuts to a far shot of a couple pickup trucks with open doors and no people. It then cuts back to Moss at the scene amongst the dead c… Continue

Film Analysis - The Life Aquatic

The Life Aquatic is a movie with a series of quirky events. Although, I didn't like the movie, the director did do a good job with the camera shots and the lighting.

In the first couple of scenes, the characters were being introduced. Quick cuts and basic camera shots were used to make it seem simple. The people on board are 'simple' and aren't at all wealthy and fancy. They were just a group of people with a job to do.

When Ned and Steve are seen together in the beginning of the movie, medium… Continue
