I am an English teacher at Shanghai American School; I teach a class called "Literature to Film". Back in the late 80's, I spent a couple of years working as technician in the film hot bed of Halifax, Nova Scotia; best boy, key grip, dolly grip, gaffer--I've been all of those. I helped make a lot of bad TV commercials, but I also got to work with Hollywood bigshots like Charlton Heston and Larry Csonka. Ok, so Csonka wasn't so much a Hollywood bigshot as a brusing fullback for the Miami Dolphins, but I did work on a movie with him. He had one line. "Put the f***ing gun down!" Took about twenty seven takes. The movie is so bad a dead guy blinks on screen. In a close up. It's called Snake Eater. I'm in the credits.
